Preamble
The forum of the Global Lingua Services website is aimed at creating a virtual community among language professionals to:
- Promote the exchange of linguistic, cultural and literary knowledge and skills.
- Facilitate the communication of information among freelancers
- Create a virtual discussion panel for linguists throughout the world.
It is characterised by solidarity, free expression and respect for others.
Every user accepts to respect these principles while on the forum.
Article 1 – Moderators
The moderators are there to watch over the proper functioning of the forum and to enforce the respect of the Charter by the users.
They decide and act autonomously or as a group of moderators in certain cases. They are appointed and discharged by the Administrator.
Article 2 – Users
By their registration, members agree to accept the stipulations of this charter. It is not allowed to have more than one user account.
Their nickname, profile, signature and avatar must all respect the rules of the Charter.
Users are obligated to express themselves using a polite and courteous language.
To maintain a friendly atmosphere on the forums, forum members must show mutual respect.
Personal conflicts between members are therefore not tolerated on the forum. Every form of aggression, threat or provocation towards anybody is not allowed.
Article 3 – Message content
Messages which are shocking, racist, insulting, abusive or in general contrary to any valid regulation or law are prohibited.
The author of a message carries the sole responsibility for any texts he publishes. Messages can be cause for legal pursuits according to the current regulation.
Using the forum and its functions for publicity or political propaganda is forbidden.
Article 4 – Message form
Text-message language is forbidden on the forum. Messages and subject titles should not be written entirely in capital letters.
The subject title must correspond to the content of the discussion: there is no use in writing "URGENT, help, please," etc.
When citing text, references must be included to respect the intellectual property rights of its author.
Flurries of words and mailings are forbidden.
Article 5 – Moderation
All content in violation of the current charter can be subject to moderation. The sanction will depend on the gravity of the problem. In case of a violation of the law, the litigious content will be forwarded to the competent authorities and its contents can be disclosed during a legal procedure.
Users are requested to perform a search on the subject they are interested in before opening a new discussion.
In case of doubles, their topic will be closed and they will be invited to continue their discussion in the existing subject.
The Administrator and moderators can create topics and sections and freely manage their content.
Article 6 – Repeated offence
Any user who repeatedly violates the stipulations of this charter can be banned from the forum for either a limited time or indefinitely.
Article 7 – Data processing and rights
In accordance with article 40 of law nr. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 “Data processing and Rights”, users have the right to access, modify, correct and delete the information that concerns them. They can exercise this right by sending a message to the administrator.
